Team Trident secured another top-10 finish with Ralph Boschung, while Giuliano Alesi completed a convincing race in sixteenth place.

In the Sprint Race stage at the Catalunya circuit that hosted the third round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship,

Concluding the third round of the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship at Caltalunya, Team Trident scored another top-10 finish in the sprint race with Ralph Boschung, who had scored the same result on Saturday. Ending up P10 in the feature race, the Swissman handed Team Trident its first points finish of the year.

The 21-year-old racer made a good start, but lost time behind some slower cars and could not go beyond P10, although he showed good potential. Concerning Giuliano Alesi, the 19-year-old from Avignon, a Ferrari Driver Academy graduate, finished sixteenth at the end of a race in which he made no mistakes and kept a good pace. His result was certainly jeopardized by his position on the starting grid. The Sprint Race does not offer teams the chance to make a difference with the strategy, pit stops and different tire compounds.

Now the technical staff of the Team Trident will analyze the data collected in Catalonia in the preparation for the fourth round of the season, scheduled from May 23rd to 25th at the prestigious Monte Carlo street course.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager

"We leave Barcelona satisfied for scoring our first points of the year and a remarkable fourth row in qualifying with Ralph Boschung, who finished both races in the tenth position. His potential was certainly superior, especially in the Feature Race when his pace was good, but a little too discontinuous. As for Giuliano Alesi, the 19-year-old Frenchman finished the Sprint Race in P16, putting up a solid race pace. His result was influenced by Saturday's off-track exit which forced him to start from the back of the grid today".
