The FIA Formula 2 Championship completed its weekend with race 2 on the legendary and fast track of Monza, Team Trident's Giuliano Alesi took a convincing seventh position, confirming the excellent result brought home yesterday. The driver from Avignon, and Team Trident, running at home, delivered their best result of the season, laying the foundations for the last couple of rounds of the championship with a load of extra motivation, confidence and greater awareness of their potential.
The 20-year-old had to slow down his pace due to grip problems in the closing stages, when he lost about four tenths of a second per lap, but collected an extremely positive result with great determination. Now the technical staff will begin the preparatory work for the next round, scheduled on the Russian track of Sochi on the last weekend of September.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager
"We are satisfied with the seventh position scored by Giuliano Alesi again today. He suffered from grip problems that caused him to lose about four tenths of a second a lap in the closing stages. The Frenchman undoubtedly delivered a high-level weekend. Today we made an important step forward, which I consider essential before the last two races of the season. We leave Monza with a positive result in front of our home crowd, with real reasons for satisfaction".
