F2 TRIDENT - SILVERSTONE SPRINT RACE

FIA F2 Championship, Silverstone, Sprint Race Report

In the second race held at the historical British track, the Team Trident drivers barely missed a top-10. Giuliano Alesi was hit by another car on lap 2, while Dorian Boccolacci ended up in 14th place.

In the Sprint Race held at the Silverstone to round out the FIA Formula 2 Championship British event, the Team Trident drivers did not score points. Giuliano Alesi, who started from the ninth row of the starting grid, was hit by Arjun Maini during the second lap. He was coming from the 13th place in yesterday's race 1.

In the impact, the car of the 20-year-old Frenchman ended up spinning, causing damage that led to immediate retirement. The second race for Dorian Boccolacci ended with a 14th position. He was off to a great start, but his pace did not allow him to aim for a top-ten position in his first foray with Team Trident in FIA Formula 2.

Now the drivers and their technical staff will focus on the next round of the season scheduled on the ups and downs of the Hungaroring, near the Capital city of Budapest, the first weekend of August.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager

"It was not a lucky day for our drivers. Unfortunately, Alesi was hit by Arjun Maini at the start of the race and was forced to retire. Boccolacci did a good start, but he missed a bit of race pace and he didn't go beyond the fourteenth position."
