FIA F2 CHAMPIONSHIP, SOCHI, SPRINT RACE REPORT
In the second race held at the Russian Sochi track, Giuliano Alesi scored points again. The Frenchman ended up in 9th place, while Ralph Boschung finished in P12.
In the Sprint Race that completed the eleventh round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship, on the Russian track of Sochi, Team Trident driver Giuliano Alesi took a convincing eighth position and gave continuity, with another good performance, to the remarkable results of Monza, where he had finished in seventh place twice. In the Sprint Race, the driver from Avignon started from the 13th position on the grid and was very careful in avoiding an accident that occurred at the first corner. On the other hand, Swiss racer Ralph Boschung maintained a solid race pace that allowed him to climb back up from the 14th position on the starting grid to the 12th place under the checkered flag. Boschung also managed to limit the damage in the chaotic early stages of the race, in which he expressed himself on good levels. Boschung then suffered a five-second penalty for a track limits infringement. Now the technical staff of Team Trident will concentrate on the work in preparation to the final round of the season, scheduled at the Yas Marina track in Abu Dhabi on the last weekend of November.
