After witnessing the great skills and potential of Clement Novalak in FIA Formula 3 postseason testing, Team Trident will field the quick British racer in the final round of testing for Team Trident in Formula 2.
The FIA Formula 2 Championship will go back on-track shortly after its season finale for postseason testing. The series will run from December 8 to 10 on the Grand Prix configuration of Bahrain International Circuit, the same venue that hosted the two closing rounds of 2020. The F2 cars and teams will remain a few more days at the middle eastern track to sample new possible technical solutions and test potential drivers for 2021. Team Trident will welcome talented 19-year-old British racer Clement Novalak for two days. Novalak, who is coming from a positive year in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, was born in Avignon but lives in London, and his pedigree includes winning the 2019 British Formula 3 Championship title. He ended up the 2020 season in P12 of the FIA F3 Championship, scoring two podiums and two fastest laps. In addition, the Brit already joined Team Trident in F3 postseason testing, running at Barcelona and Jerez with excellent results last October. He impressed the team’s technical staff and management by scoring the fastest lap time in the two-day session in Catalunya (Oct. 5 and 6), and second place at Jerez (Oct. 27 and 28). Novalak’s program for Bahrain includes long stints and performance-oriented runs. It will be a key occasion for him and a chance to gain good chemistry with the Formula 2 machinery. The team can’t wait to have him on board and start working together.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager:
“We are delighted to field Clement Novalak for two days in the postseason test for the FIA Formula 2 Championship in Bahrain. He showed amazing talent and potential and impressed the team a lot during the FIA Formula 3 postseason tests held in Spain. It is pivotal for the team to work with a skilled driver like Clement. I am sure it will be an extremely complete learning session for the driver and useful for the team too”.
