FIA F2 Championship, Spielberg, Sprint Race Report

In the final race held on the ups and downs of Red Bull Ring, Israeli racer Roy Nissany scored 12th place at the end of a solid midpack performance. Marino Sato ended up a positive run in P17.

In the Sprint Race held at the Spielberg circuit and that wrapped up the first round of the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship, the drivers of Team Trident delivered a more than satisfactory performance. Roy Nissany, who had finished the Feature Race in 10th place, did not score more points for the team as he drove a hard-fought race in the mid-pack. The third driver of Williams F1 kept a good race pace but lost some positions on the final stages due to the thermal degradation of his tires. The first outing under the Team Trident banner was very promising for the Israeli racer for the rest of the season. Marino Satofinished the Sprint Race in P17. The Yokohama-born driver was called back to the pit lane to fit softer tires. His performance must certainly be painted in positive terms, especially in light of the fact that he was unable to compete in the Feature Race due to a technical problem not dependent on the team. The engines might have been shut off at Red Bull Ring, but for the drivers and the technical staff of Team Trident is already time to work ahead of the next championship round which will be taking place at the same venue next weekend.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager
"It was a positive day for both drivers. The team was not slowed down by mechanical problems, unlike others. Nissany's performance was good. The Israeli driver pushed hard in the middle part of the Sprint Race and suffered some thermal degradation to the tires at the end. His debut with Team Trident is very promising. Turning to Marino Sato, his performance deserves praise, especially if we take into consideration the fact that he was unable to compete in the Feature Race".
