A weekend to forget at the Hungaroring
Things didn't go as expected at the Hungaroring circuit in the outskirts of Budapest. The fifth round of the Formula Regional European championship proved to be quite challenging for Trident Motorsport and its three drivers, Kai Daryanani, Andrija Kostic, and Maksimilian Popov. From free practice onward, the competitiveness that has always characterized the team's cars in previous events was lacking. Despite the commitment of the technical staff and drivers, performances failed to improve in qualifying and the races, so all that remains is to look forward to the next round at Circuit Paul Ricard on the weekend of July 19th.
Maksimilian Popov: "It was a very hard weekend. We had absolutely no pace from the beginning and I was already struggling from the first free practice session. The whole weekend was about trying to find the pace and make progress with the car. I can't say we managed to do that, but we're working hard and I'm sure we'll be better in the next round. Hard work always pays off, so let's see what we can do at Paul Ricard".
Andrija Kostić: "It was a very difficult weekend for the whole team. We were struggling with the pace no matter what we did, so now we really need to turn the page, reset everything and go to Paul Ricard with full motivation, ready to push and with a positive mindset. We need to get everything we can out of the weekend, and the most important thing is to keep working together."
Kai Daryanani: “It was a very tricky weekend, honestly one of the hardest weekends of my life. We struggled quite a lot as a team with the balance of the car and with finding grip in general. We tried a lot of different things and they changed the balance, but not in the areas where we needed more grip. It was a really tricky weekend, but we've got Paul Ricard in two weeks. We know the team will be working extremely hard to understand what happened and come back as strong as possible for the next round”.
