Coming from a successful 2022 Formula Regional European Championship that saw the team win the rookie title, Trident will welcome rookie Nikhil Bohra for 2023 as he looks forward to making his series debut. The team, led by Maurizio Salvadori, will continue to run with three cars in the challenging European competition, with the goal of improving their fifth place in the 2022 Team Championship.
Bohra will be a key part of that effort. The US-born Indian-American, who races with a Singapore license, had positive runs in the Italian, German and UAE Formula 4 championships. Despite being at his single-seater debut, Bohra gathered several top-10 finishes in the most high-level championships on the world F4 stage.
Throughout the winter, Bohra underwent a thorough preparation programme with Trident while taking part in the Indian Racing League. Although he had to deal with a more powerful and challenging car than he was used to, he was able to secure the overall title.
Maurizio Salvadori - Team Owner, Trident:
“We had the chance to welcome Nikhil for testing and we quickly realised how professional and dedicated his approach as a driver is. The chemistry with the team was also there quickly and even improved test after test. We know that the overall level in FRECA is extremely high and it's not easy for a rookie to emerge, but those aspects, together with his raw speed, make us really happy and proud to have him with us this season."
“I am super excited to be signing with Trident for the 2023 season, and I am optimistic regarding our ability to perform. FRECA is an extremely competitive category so I am grateful to have this opportunity to compete with such a strong team, especially in my rookie season. All of the winter tests with Trident were solid, and I learned a lot about the car and the way the team works. Looking forward to the year ahead!”
