Challenging weekend at Zandvoort in the Regional European Championship for Trident
Zandvoort wasn't a memorable weekend for Trident Motorsport. The second round of the Formula Regional European Championship proved more challenging than expected. Drivers Maksimilian Popov, Kai Daryanani, and Andrija Kostić scored no points in the two scheduled races.
Popov came close in the first race, finishing in 11th place after starting from 15th. Daryanani made a good recovery, moving from 29th to 20th, while Kostić took the checkered flag in 27th place. The second race wasclearly frustrating. A few kilometers after the start, Kostić was rammed by a rival and rolled over, while in the ensuing chaos, while Daryanani was also hit by a rival. The race was over for both drivers. With a couple of laps to go, Popov, while battling for 11th place, collided with the driver he was battling with and went off the track.
Aroundto be quickly forgotten therefore.Tridentandthe other teams in the category will move straight to nearby Belgium where the Spa-Francorchampscircuit, home of the third round of the season, will be waiting for them from Thursdayonwards.
