In the FIA Formula 2 Championship Feature Race in Australia, a penalty took away Roman Staněk's first point of the season. Clément Novalak came close to a top-10 finish.

Trident Motorsport signed off the Australian round of the  FIA Formula 2 Championship with the Feature Race held at the city track of Melbourne. Today's race was highlighted by a rising performance by the Trident Motorsport drivers. Roman Staněk and Clément Novalak took P10 and P12 respectively at the end of a comeback race where they put up an impressive pace.

After the race, the Czech driver suffered a penalty for an infraction committed under safety-car conditions and was thus deprived of his first point in the category. Novalak had an intense race. The Avignon native was involved in several battles, made a trip to the gravel and recovered well from the P19 on the starting grid to the footsteps of the top ten.

For the drivers and technical staff of Trident Motorsport, the goal is to make sure that the first points of the season will only be delayed until the next round of the season, scheduled on the shores of the Caspian Sea in Baku on the last weekend of April.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager:

"Today's results from Staněk and Novalak were affected by their qualifying session and the backward position on the starting grid. Both delivered a good comeback race, with the Czech climbing up to 10th place. However, he was stripped of his first point of the season by the stewards due to a safety-car infraction. Novalak also had a positive recovery. Now we will prepare for the next round of the season in Baku, where we aim for our first points of the season."
