FREC, Trident to Zandvoort for the second round

The Formula Regional European Championship is entering the heart of its season. After the first round held end of April in Austria, at the Red Bull Ring, the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort will host the second round of the championship, starting on Friday, May 22nd. The third round will follow the following week at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Trident arrives in Zandvoort with its usual three drivers: Kai Daryanani, a three-time top 10 finisher at the Red Bull Ring, Maximilian Popov, sixth in the first race in Austria, and Andrija Kostić, seeking to materialize the good progress shown at the Red Bull Ring.

As at the Red Bull Ring, the FREC also runs concurrently with the DTM at Zandvoort. The circuit, located just steps from the North Sea shores, is an old-school one, with short run-off areas and few overtaking spots. It will be a great challenge for the drivers and technical staff of Maurizio Salvadori's team.

Unlike the Red Bull Ring, where three races were held, two races are scheduled in the Netherlands. After free practice on Friday, May 22nd, the first qualifying session will take place on Saturday at 8:55 a.m., followed by the first race at 4:45 p.m. On Sunday, May 24th, qualifying session 2 is scheduled for 8:55 a.m., while the second race, concluding the weekend, will start again at 4:45 p.m.
