Freca smiles in Netherlands. Bilinski finishes in fifth place

The cold trip to the Netherlands was more than positive for Trident in the opening race day for the Formula Regional European by Alpine event at Zandvoort. In race 1, the team led by Maurizio Salvadori secured an excellent fifth place with Roman Bilinski, marking his best result of the season.

Thanks to an excellent qualifying 1 result, which saw him third in Group B and fourth overall on the starting grid, Bilinski drove a spirited and intelligent race, maintaining his position until the checkered flag.

The positive moment therefore continues for Trident. In the previous round at Monza, the team scored fourth place in race 1 with Nikhil Bohra and fifth with Owen Tangavelou to continue the good form of Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Since the return from the summer break, the team had a remarkable run.

Unfortunately, Bohra and Tangavelou could not enter the top 10 as in previous events due to a tough qualifying. Tangavelou finished the race in 17th position ahead of Bohra, 18th.

Roman Bilinski: “Overall, a very solid day, I’m very happy here at Zandvoort. Qualifying was really positive with my best result of the season, P3 in group, and starting P4 on the grid. In the race, the pace was extremely strong. We finished P5 on track, so overall, a very good day. Thank you to Trident!”

Nikhil Bohra: “Today it was a very difficult day. The first time I ever drove here in the dry was with the new tyres in qualy, so we had to really put it together, and we didn’t. We have a lot to learn and we used this race as an opportunity to learn for tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day. We can hopefully get some points and start further up the grid and make our life a little bit easier.“

Owen Tangavelou: “Not the best day with Trident. The starting position we got from qualy was not great, but in the race, we had quite a great pace. We just didn’t start in the right position for the race. Tomorrow we will improve the qualifying and for the race, we will be OK. I want to thank the team for the hard work.“
