Hungaroring, to Hungary to score good points

Hungaroring, to Hungary to score good points

The tenth round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship takes place next weekend at the Hungaroring. After the fast and challenging Spa-Francorchamps, the category will visit the circuit located just outside Budapest. Narrow, slow, and twisty, the Hungarian track is diametrically opposed to the ones having hosted the last two rounds at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps.

Given the layout of the Hungaroring, starting grid positions are more important than average. For Trident Motorsport drivers Sami Meguetounif and Max Esterson, it will therefore be important to be effective during qualifying.

After collecting less than expected in Belgium, Trident Motorsport has closed ranks to prepare with maximum determination and focus for the final round before the summer break. The Hungaroring will offer the Ossona-based team a chance to improve the standings, but maximum attention to detail will be required to have a competitive and positive weekend.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “The Hungaroring track is extremely technical. Our goal on the track near Budapest is to have a competitive weekend that will allow us to improve our standings. We have prepared very carefully for the event in Hungary, now the execution phase will be important, especially in qualifying, as overtaking is not easy on a circuit with short straights.”

The engines of the FIA Formula 2 Championship cars will start on Friday at 11:05 a.m., with the 45-minute free practice session. Qualifying is scheduled for the same day, starting at 3:55 p.m. The Sprint Race will take place on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. The Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will start on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. All track action will be broadcast live on Sky Sport F1.
