Max Esterson to compete in the FIA F2 2025 with Trident

Trident Motorsport is pleased to announce the first of two drivers who will make up its 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship line-up. Based in Milan, and with its operational headquarters in Ossona, Italy, next season the team will field the promising American driver Max Esterson. For the 22-year-old born in New York and resident in London, it will be the first full campaign in the category where he has made his debut last weekend in Losail at the Qatar Grand Prix.
The American driver competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for the first time this year, obtaining a sixth place as best result in his debut race in Bahrain. Esterson began his racing career competing in iRacing esports championships when he was only 10 years old, quickly becoming one of the most highly ranked sim drivers in the world. In 2021, he moved to the UK for his first season of real racing where in three seasons he achieved 14 wins, 12 poles and 34 podiums in British Formula Ford and GB3, including becoming the first American to win the world renowned Formula Ford Festival. 2024 saw Esterson move up a class to compete in FIA Formula 3, contesting his first full season in an international series.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager Trident Motorsport: “We are very pleased to announce that Max Esterson will compete in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Trident Motorsport. He is a driver we met two years ago, we have followed him very carefully and we have seen him making remarkable progress. This past year, Max has proven to be extremely competitive in his debut in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. I am confident that he has all the qualities to do a good job with our technical staff and be competitive in 2025."
Max Esterson, Trident Motorsport driver, FIA F2 Championship 2025: "I am thrilled to be able to compete in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Trident Motorsport. Participating in the Losail race last weekend and the Abu Dhabi final are very useful in this regard. I think even in one weekend I have already learned so much about Formula 2, but I’m sure it's just the tip of the iceberg. Together with the Trident engineering team, I will work hard this winter to make 2025 a great year. I would like to thank the team, my sponsors, my fans and my family for all their work and support that have allowed me to be where I am today."
