Maximum concentration ahead of the final round before the well deserved break
In a relentless calendar, after the intense weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, the FIA Formula 3 Championship faces its seventh round of the season at the Hungaroring. The track on the outskirts of Budapest represents a key stage of the championship before the summer break and will offer Trident Motorsport an important opportunity to consolidate its position among the protagonists of the third category.
The Milanese team, with operational headquarters in Ossona, arrives in Hungary after confirming the competitiveness of its package on the Ardennes circuit. Freddie Slater took his second consecutive pole position, which he then converted into a valuable third-place finish in the Feature Race.
This result places the 17-year-old Briton in second place in the overall FIA Formula 3 Championship Drivers' standings, just one point behind the championship leader.
The Belgian weekend also confirmed the potential of Noah Strømsted, who suffered a grid penalty but put in two solid comeback races. The eighteen-year-old Dane scored a point in the Sprint Race and then narrowly missed out on the points in the Feature Race.
Matteo De Palo was less fortunate, slowed by traffic in qualifying and a series of unfavorable incidents in both races, preventing him from capitalizing on the speed he had shown.
The Hungaroring represents a completely different challenge than Spa-Francorchamps. The twisty Hungarian track, characterized by a succession of medium-to-slow corners and few straights, rewards precision, consistency, and tire management. The high temperatures, traditionally a feature of the Hungarian weekend, will make managing tire degradation even more delicate, a factor that could prove crucial in the outcome of the two races.
Trident Motorsport heads to the Hungarian round aiming to continue its top-scoring results in both the Drivers' and Teams' standings, aware that every point will be increasingly important in the final part of the season.
