Montmeló, seeking a turning point in Catalonia

After Imola and Monte Carlo, the FIAFormula 2 Championship heads to Spain. As per tradition, the Montmeló circuit will welcome the drivers of the junior series. Trident Motorsport arrives on the Catalan circuit with the aim of performing a competitive weekend.
The Montmeló track, characterized by slow and fast curves interspersed with long straights, is often used in pre-season tests. A true testing ground for drivers and cars, this year too the Spanish track was the setting of the collective tests at the end of February. The two Trident Motorsport drivers performed well with Sami Meguetounif setting the eighth fastest time overall, while Max Esterson was fifth-fastest in the last session.
After the difficult weekend in Monaco, in which both drivers failed to get into the points zone, it is now time to turn the page. The drivers and technical staff of the team based in Ossona are very determined to have a competitive weekend. All the preparation work, accurate and meticulous as usual, now has to materialize on the track.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “The Montmeló event is important, also because on a technical track that everyone knows very well, the form of the contenders emerges more genuinely. We have prepared with the utmost determination for the Catalan outing, in which we aim to have a competitive and convincing weekend. Up to now, we have not collected results in line with our potential. From this point of view, we would like the round on Iberian soil to be a turning point”.
The engines of the FIA Formula 2 Championship single-seaters will start on Friday at 11:05 when the 45-minute free practice session is scheduled. Qualifying is scheduled for the same day, from 15:55. Saturday will be the turn of the Sprint Race, at 14:15. The Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will start on Sunday at 10:00. The on-track activity will be broadcast live in its entirety on Sky Sport F.1.
