Montmeló, Trident faces its first back-to-back of the season

After the fascinating yet treacherous streets of Monaco, the FIA Formula 3 Championship completes its first back-to-back of the season. The third round of the calendar, the second on European soil, is scheduled at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló.

Trident Motorsport arrives in Spain aiming to continue the positive streak seen in Monaco. A podium finish in the Feature Race put Freddie Slater in third place in the overall FIA Formula 3 Championship standings, nine points off the top spot.

Having scored points in both races this weekend in Monaco, Noah Strømsted has certainly shown considerable consistency. A turnaround is now expected from the 18-year-old from Copenhagen on Europe's first permanent track.

Seeking redemption after a difficult weekend, Matteo De Palo will arrive at the Catalan circuit aiming to secure his first results in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Already showing consistent race pace, the 18-year-old from Rome now needs to put it all together over the course of the weekend.

The Catalan track holds no secrets, as it also hosts collective testing sessions for the series. Both the drivers and the technical staff at Trident Motorsport know the Montmeló track very well. A perfect weekend will be needed in Spain to continue the season with momentum.

Giacomo Ricci, Trident Motorsport Team Manager: “The championship allows no breaks. Immediately after Monte Carlo, we now have Barcelona, a demanding and technical track that we know very well. The competition will be very close, and every detail could be decisive. We have a good tradition on the Catalan track, but we know that this does not mean much, and we'll have to give it our all and be perfect in our execution to achieve our goals.”

The FIA Formula 3 Championship engines will start on Friday at 9:55 a.m., with the 45-minute free practice session. Qualifying is scheduled for the same day, starting at 3:00 p.m. The Sprint Race will take place on Saturday at 10:05 a.m. The Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will start on Sunday at 8:40 a.m. All track action will be broadcast on Sky F1.
