Monza, aiming at a competitive performance on the home track

The eleventh round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship takes place this weekend in Monza. After a month-long break from the slow and winding Hungaroring, the category will head to the historic and challenging Autodromo di Monza. Known as the Temple of Speed, Monza boasts unique characteristics and is impossible to compare to other circuits on the calendar.
The race at the Lombardy track is certainly one of the most awaited for Trident Motorsport, as it can be considered the home race for the Milanese team, headquartered in Ossona. Both the team and its drivers Sami Meguetounif and Max Esterson will be eager to perform well from the start of the weekend.
Monza is an extremely fast track. The pace is broken up by three chicanes and two corners, Lesmo and Parabolica, which are approached at medium-high speeds and require stability both when entering and through the corners to be able to exit quickly before tackling the long straights. Finding the right setup for the cars, which will run with low aerodynamic load, will therefore be crucial to reaching high top speeds.
But, contrary to what one might imagine, overtaking at Monza isn't always easy. Despite DRS and slipstreaming, maneuvers require great skill. This is also why Trident Motorsport drivers Sami Meguetounif and Max Esterson will be called upon to give their utmost all right from qualifying.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: "The season resumes at Monza, a special track for us because it's close to our headquarters and because we'll enjoy the support of many friends and fans. Our goal at the Lombardy track is to have a competitive weekend. The preparation work has been meticulous, now it will require top-notch execution from the team and drivers."
The engines of the FIA Formula 2 Championship cars will start on Friday at 11:00 a.m., with the 45-minute free practice session. Qualifying also takes place that day, starting at 3:55 p.m. The Sprint Race will be on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. The Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will get underway on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. All track action will be broadcast live on Sky Sport F1.
