Richard Verschoor and Trident Motorsport part ways

The collaboration between Trident Motorsport and Richard Verschoor comes to an end after an intense journey: we came together, we broke up and then rejoined again. Richard Verschoor contested the 2022 and 2024 seasons of the FIA Formula 2 Championship under the colors of Trident Motorsport, up to now when the time has come to part ways.

The twenty-three-year-old from Benschlap will not be part of the driver line-up of the Milan-based team in the remaining two rounds of the season. He will be replaced by a driver to be announced shortly. Together, Trident Motorsport and Richard Verschoor have achieved remarkable goals. There were exciting moments, but also difficult ones. In 2022, the Dutch driver achieved one victory, three podiums, and one fastest lap.

This year, Verschoor has one success to his credit, four podiums, two pole positions, and one fastest lap. Behind these numbers, there is a lot of passion, commitment, and dedication from both sides. Now that the paths of the Dutch driver and Trident Motorsport are dividing, the team wants to fondly thank him, and express to him its esteem and its best wishes for the rest of his career. Richard and Trident Motorsport part ways after a fantastic success in Baku. Given the quality of their relationship, there couldn’t be a better farewell.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager:“The two years of collaboration between Trident Motorsport and Richard Verschoor have been intense and challenging. We will remember Richard for his speed on the track, his commitment, and his talent. He is a racer who has certainly left his mark on the team. Richard brought a significant wealth of experience, working methodology, and professionalism. Together, we achieved two victories and numerous podiums. The journey has been dotted with numerous moments of absolute competitiveness on the track, which we have sometimes failed to materialize. We wish Richard the highest satisfaction, which he certainly deserves."

Richard Verschoor, Driver:“Two years in the same team is a piece of history for a driver! Today I would like to talk about my collaboration with Trident Motorsport which, unfortunately, for the second time, is coming to an end. This year has been a complicated season, marked by technical problems, with ups and downs that determine a ranking that does not reflect our value, which is undoubtedly higher than what the numbers say. The road traveled with Trident Motorsport contains podiums and victories, but also some setbacks and disappointments. We experienced strong emotions together, memories that I will always carry with me.  However, sometimes, things don't go as we would like, and now our paths diverge. Looking back, I take with me many positive things.  I wish the team and its management a future full of success!".
