Silverstone, a decisive moment

Silverstone, a decisive moment

In a relentless calendar, the FIA Formula 3 Championship will stop at Silverstone next weekend. Just a few days after the Austrian round at the Red Bull Ring, the second back-to-back of the season will take place on the historic English track, which hosts the fifth round of the series, with Trident Motorsport determined to build on the good results demonstrated in Styria.

The Milan-based team, with operations based in Ossona, arrives in Great Britain on the back of a weekend in Austria that concluded with a victory for Noah Strømsted and a third-place finish for Freddie Slater in the Feature Race.

A key figure in the Austrian weekend, Strømsted scored his first win of the season in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, confirming his high level of competitiveness. The eighteen-year-old Dane made a significant leap forward in the overall standings.

It was also a positive weekend for Freddie Slater. After retiring from the Sprint Race, the seventeen-year-old Englishman responded with a solid performance in Sunday's longest race. The Audi Junior Driver earned a valuable podium finish, moving him up to second in the overall FIA Formula 3 Championship driver standings, sixteen points off the top spot.

Matteo De Palo's growth continues. The McLaren Junior Driver had to contend with a difficult qualifying in Austria, but showed encouraging pace in both races. The eighteen-year-old from Rome confirmed his steady progress, which represents a good starting point ahead of the British round.

Silverstone, Trident Motorsport Team Manager: “We arrive at Silverstone after a weekend in Styria that confirmed the team's competitiveness. Strømsted's victory and Slater's podium must only be a starting point. Now comes the hard part. We know that every weekend presents new challenges, and we can't afford to make mistakes. Our goal will be to confirm our competitiveness in Great Britain as well; it will require determination, focus, and composure in crucial moments.”

The FIA Formula 3 Championship engines will start on Friday at 8:50 a.m., with the 45-minute free practice session. Qualifying also takes place on the same day, starting at 2:00 p.m. The Sprint Race will take place on Saturday at 9:35 a.m. The Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will start on Sunday at 8:25 a.m. All track activity will be broadcast in full on Sky F1. All times are in local time (GMT +1).A
