Spa-Francorchampscircuit, a demanding challenge on the legendary Ardennes track

The ninth round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship takes place next weekend at the historic Spa-Francorchampscircuit. After the fast Silverstone, the category will now head to another fascinating and demanding circuit. Finding the right set-up balance will be crucial on the Belgian track, given that the longest track on the calendar(7.004 km) features framing a more technical one.
Trident Motorsport arrives at Spa determined to have a competitive weekend that will allow the team to score points and improve their Drivers' and Teams' standings. In both races held at Silverstone, Sami Meguetounif and Max Esterson failed to finish in the points.
Spa-Francorchamps could represent a chance for redemption. It will therefore be important to master not only the technical aspects but also the weather variables to overcome an extremely demanding challenge on a legendary circuit that requires a perfect car setup. The Trident Motorsport technical staff knows the Belgian track very well and, together with the drivers, has carried out meticulous preparation work.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “Spa-Francorchamps is very demanding and selective. Our goal in the Ardennes is to have a competitive weekend and improve our standings, where so far we have not achieved results in line with our expectations. A good result in Belgium could have a positive impact on the rest of the season. There are still six weekends to go, in which we are determined to show improvement. We have prepared very carefully for the Spa round, now it will be important for our drivers and technical staff to translate the work done into concrete results.”
The engines of the FIA Formula 2 Championship cars will start on Friday at 10:10 a.m., with the 45-minute free practice session. Qualifying will take place that same day, starting at 2:55 p.m. The Sprint Race will be on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. The Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will get underway on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. All track action will be broadcast live on Sky Sport F1.
