Trident at Red Bull Ring to improve the ranking

The long break is over. The FIA Formula 2 Championship will be racing in Austria next weekend. The seventh round of the season, which will take place on the hills of Styria, will offer Trident Motorsport the opportunity to get back on track, after the difficult weekend in Montmeló, in which both drivers didn’t score points.

The team with operational headquarters in Ossona will arrive at the Red Bull Ring with the goal of having a competitive weekend, starting with the qualifying round, which will be crucial for the outcome of the entire weekend. In fact, in the previous round in Spain, a lackluster qualifying session left both Trident Motorsport drivers at the back of the starting grid and with little chance of moving up the standings, in a category where gaps are always extremely small.

In Austria, the drivers will find a track with very different characteristics to the one in Montmelò. Only 4.318 km-long, the Red Bull Ring features long straights linked by slow corners, at the exit of which you need to have good traction. Trident Motorsport drivers Sami Meguetounif and Max Esterson will have to take care of every little detail to make the difference.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “We have four demanding races ahead of us over the next six weekends, in which our goal is to express ourselves at a competitive level and improve our ranking. Up until now, our drivers have not achieved results in line with their potential. Our goal is to give our all to be more concrete starting from the qualifying round, always crucial in a championship where the level of competitiveness is very close”.

The engines of the FIA Formula 2 Championship single-seaters will start on Friday at 11:05, when the 45-minute free practice session is scheduled. Qualifying is scheduled for the same day, from 15:55. The Sprint Race will take place on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. The Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will start on Sunday at 10 a.m. The track activity will be broadcast live on Sky Sport F1.
