Trident back in the points at Imola

Trident back in the points at Imola

At the Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack in Imola, Trident competed in the seventh and penultimate round of the European Formula Regional championship (FREC). Overall, it was a difficult weekend for the team, with Maximilian Popov managing to sweeten the day thanks to the eight points he earned in Race 3. In Race 1, the 2008-born driver came close to scoring, finishing 11th, while in Race 2 he was less fortunate, being forced to retire.

Andrija Kostić and Kai Daryanani also encountered some difficulties. The Serbian retired in the first two races, while in Race 3 he finished 21st. Daryanani, on his side, managed to complete all three races, finishing 21st, 20th, and 19th, respectively.

With the Imola weekend behind us, the last remaining round is Hockenheim, where the team will head next weekend with the aim of finishing the season on a high note.

Maksimilian Popov: “Weekend done in Imola, with a decent ending in Race 3, following a P3 in the group in qualifying. We started P6 in the race and grabbed some points after a long, difficult period for the team and for me. In general, the weekend was really difficult, with some mistakes from both sides, but we kept strong and kept fighting until the end, and we were able to execute everything really well. So I’m happy with the points, and let’s go on to Hockenheim and show what we can do”.

Andrija Kostić: “It was a pretty difficult weekend here in Imola, a home race for Trident. We had the pace and the potential to do very big things, but unfortunately some unlucky crashes in the races prevented us from doing so. We’re heading into the last race in Hockenheim, where we hope to do amazingly well for the final race of the championship”.

Kai Daryanani: “Overall, it was a quite a difficult weekend here in Imola, but better today than in the earlier part of the weekend. It was a new track for me, so it took some time to get used to the flow and the rhythm of things, but overall we made good progress. Although we didn’t come away with points, I learned a lot from this weekend and I’m looking forward to the final round in Hockenheim”.
