Trident conquers a podium finish and mantains the lead

The FIA Formula 3 Championship returned to the twisty Hungarian circuit located just outside Budapest, home this weekend to the eighth round of the 2025 championship. In an extremely close qualifying session, the Trident Motorsport drivers shone, with Rafael Câmara securing his fifth pole position of the season, an all-time record for the category. Charlie Wurz also performed well, posting the sixth fastest time, while Noah Strømsted could only manage fourteenth.
However, due to the reversed starting grid of the top twelve times on the Sprint Race grid, Charlie Wurz started today's race from seventh place. The son of Alex was immediately in combative mode, managing to gain a position in the opening part of the race, which was also affected by a neutralization.
Having made excellent progress, the Trident Motorsport driver was just shy of the podium when the safety car was called for a second time. With just one lap to go, Wurz immediately passed hisdirect rival at the restart, a move that earned him the third step of the podium and secured crucial points for Trident Motorsport, which maintains its lead in the Teams' championship.
Rafael Câmara also had an extremely positive race. Having secured pole position, the 20-year-old Brazilian started the Sprint Race in twelfth place due to the grid inversion. With a cool and calculating approach, Câmara was careful not to make mistakes or get involved in contacts.
Furthermore, taking advantage of the battles ahead of him, the Ferrari Driver Academy driver climbed the standings to finish eighth. The result is a crucial step for Câmara in his championship hopes, as he extends his lead over the closest rival to thirty-one points.
Noah Strømsted, forced to start from the middle of the field, got stuck in traffic. The narrow Hungarian track, which doesn't offer many opportunities for overtaking, didn't help Strømsted, who will try to make up in tomorrow's Feature Race.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “It was undoubtedly a positive Sprint Race for Trident Motorsport, which strengthened its lead in the Drivers' standings with Rafael Câmara and successfully defended its first place in the Teams' standings thanks to Charlie Wurz's third place finish and Camâra’s eighth. Noah Strømsted paid dearly for his lower starting position. The Danish driver lost time in numerous midfield battles, failing to climb into the top ten. Now we must remain fully focused ahead of tomorrow's Feature Race, which is very important for the championship.”
