Trident heads to Hockenheim for the FREC season finale
Just hours after the conclusion of the Imola weekend, the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) is revving up again. The series heads to the Hockenheim circuit for the final round of the eight-race season. Two races are scheduled, with Team Trident fielding its three drivers: Kai Daryanani, Andrija Kostić, and Maksimilian Popov.
Buoyed by Popov’s strong performance at Imola—where he secured sixth place in the final race—Trident is optimistic about the round in the German track located near Heidelberg. Popov sits 12th in the drivers' standings and has a chance to break into the top 10, trailing the tenth-placed driver by just six points.
Daryanani aims to close the season by returning to the points-scoring positions—a feat he hasn't achieved in nine races—while Kostić faces a similar challenge; having missed out on the top 10 so far for various reasons, he is playing his final card at Hockenheim. The first race takes place on Saturday, September 12, at 13:05, with the second race following on Sunday, September 13, at 16:15.
