Trident heads to Spielberg title chase with De Palo goes on

The summer break has been short for the Formula Regional European by Alpine. The last round was held in Imola early August, and the series is ready to restart its engines this weekend. The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria) will host the seventh of ten rounds on the calendar. Trident Motorsport will field its usual lineup, with the three cars entrusted to Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi, Matteo De Palo, and Ruiqi Liu. After the Italian round, De Palo is second in the championship, just 16 points behind the leader Freddie Slater, with 170 points for the Roman, and 186 for the Englishman. The battle between the two title contenders promises to be exciting.

De Palo has scored two wins to date and holds the all-time points-scoring record, as he has finished in  12 out of 12 races, and never in a position lower than sixth. Nobody has done better. The short and challenging Spielberg circuit will also offer Bhirombhakdi the chance to be again in the top 10, and Liu to score points for the second time after opening his count in Italy. Maurizio Salvadori's Trident Motorsport is fourth in the Teams standings and has a good chance of moving towards the virtual "podium" of these standings.
