Trident in the points with Meguetounif at the Red Bull RIng

The Feature Race, which concluded the seventh round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship season, on the Spielberg track, saw Trident Racing's Sami Meguetounif score points. Slightly further back, Max Esterson finished Sunday's race in fifteenth place.
A lacklustre qualifying session saw the two drivers of the team based in Ossona start from the second half of the grid. Given the layout of the Styrian track, the Trident Racing pit wall therefore opted for an early part of the race with Prime tyres. This allowed both Meguetounif and Esterson to extend their first stint.
Starting from thirteenth on the grid, the twenty-year-old from Marseille gradually climbed the standings, reaching the top positions before the mandatory stop. Having switched to the Option tyres, Meguetounif maintained a decent race pace, crossing the finish line in tenth place, in the points.
Max Esterson also had a consistent Feature Race. The twenty-two-year-old American used the same strategy as his teammate, climbing the standings. Unfortunately, the final result was impacted by starting from the nineteenth spot. Esterson therefore achieved a positive fifteenth place. The calendar does not give any respite, as the FIA Formula 2 Championship will be held on the Silverstone track next weekend.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “We opted to start with both cars on the Prime compound, in order to allow our drivers to recover. Today we witnessed a comeback Feature Race, which saw us finish in the points with Sami Meguetounif, while Max Esterson finished in fifteenth place.”
