Trident looks to continue the growing trend in the scenic Yas Marina track

Trident Motorsport looks to continue the growing trend shown in the second part of the championship in the final round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship, taking place at the scenic Yas Marina track this weekend.
Coming from a win in the Feature Race at Zandvoort and a double points finish at Monza, Trident Motorsport had to wait two and a half months before going back on track for the final round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE facility traditionally hosts the final race of the championship and a post-season test session in the following days, in which the candidates for a seat for the following year are normally tested. In Abu Dhabi, there will also be great curiosity to see if the long break that began on September 3rd, the day of Monza's Feature Race, will favor changes in terms of the competitive levels compared to what we have witnessed so far.
The final race of the season often features new drivers who will eventually compete in the following season. This is the case of Paul Aron, who will make his debut in the FIA Formula 2 Championship alongside Monza's double points finisher Roman Staněk. The Yas Marina track is 5.281 km long and features a long 1.2 km straight between turns 5 and 6 that provides good chances for passing, which is often followed by counter-attacks between turns 7 and 8.
The facility has 16 corners of different geometry and speed, while the asphalt is usually not very abrasive. However, it is a place where a lot of traction is needed, with implications for tire degradation.
Both drivers know the venue but have never raced there on a FIA Formula 2 Championship car. The Trident Motorsport technical staff will give Paul and Roman maximum support so that they can quickly learn the secrets of the Emirates track and have a competitive weekend.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “Our team showed convincing growth in the second half of the season, and we want to confirm the trend next weekend in the final round of the championship. We will field a new line-up, with Paul Aron alongside Roman Staněk. Our goal will be to be competitive with both cars and allow the 19-year-old Estonian to have a good first impact on the higher category. After a break of over two months, we will have to be reactive and quickly find our pace, on and off the track. The preparation work has been thorough, so we can't wait to restart and end the season with a convincing performance."
The FIA Formula 2 Championship will start its weekend with a 45-minute Free Practice session on Friday at 11.05. Qualifying is scheduled on the same day at 15:00. The Sprint Race will be on Saturday at 16:20. The Feature Race will start on Sunday at 13.15. Times are expressed in local time, three hours ahead of CET. The activity on the track will be fully broadcast live by the Sky Sports network.
