Trident maintains the lead in both standings thanks to a solid performance

The Feature Race that wraps up the third round of the FIA Formula 3 Championship, held at Imola, confirmed the solid form of Trident Motorsport. At the end of the home event, the team with operational headquarters in Ossona firmly maintains the top spot in both the Teams and Drivers standings.
In the longer race of the Imola weekend, the Trident Motorsport drivers proved to be extremely fast and competitive. Starting from pole position, Rafael Câmara made his tyres spin slightly, slipping to second place. Having lost the lead, the twenty-year-old Brazilian did not lose his composure. Câmara followed the race leader for two laps before launching an attack at the Tamburello braking point on lap four.
Having regained the lead of the race, the Brazilian from the Ferrari Driver Academy then took off. Unfortunately, a Virtual Safety Car, halfway through the race, broke the rhythm of the race. Furthermore, at the restart, the Brazilian driver was unable to be equally effective, due to tyre degradation, slipping to third place in the final laps. Thanks to his third podium of the season, Câmara firmly maintains his lead in the overall standings of the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Noah Strømsted was extremely effective on the Italian track. Starting from third on the grid, the 17-year-old Dane found himself in fifth place at the end of the first lap. The Trident Motorsport driver then began an intense comeback, climbing back to third place before the neutralization. When the race resumed, the Mercedes junior driver overtook Câmara to attempt an assault on victory, which slipped away by just two tenths. By also achieving the fastest lap, Strømsted climbs to second place in the championship standings, placing himself right behind his teammate Câmara.
For Charlie Wurz, instead, it was a race all in comeback. Although forced to start the Feature Race from the twenty-eighth place on the starting grid, Alex’s son n of art did not give up. With a fast and constant driving style, as well as careful management of the tires, Wurz climbed the rankings until finishing the race in sixteenth position. We are in a hot phase of the season: next weekend the FIA Formula 3 Championship will be on the street circuit of Monaco, where the fourth round of the season is scheduled.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “We just missed out on a third consecutive Feature Race, but today’s results are very good. We leave Imola in the lead of both standings, with Rafael Câmara and Noah Strømsted occupying the first two positions among the Drivers. Degradation slowed the Brazilian in the final stages, while the Danish driver finished a remarkable race just 277 thousandths behind the winner, Ramos. Charlie Wurz made a very good comeback, but was penalised by starting from the back”.
