Trident Motorsport prepares to enter the Italian Formula 4

Trident Motorsport prepares for the future. The Italian team led by Maurizio Salvadori, active in Formula 2, Formula 3, and Formula Regional European by Alpine, will embrace a new series in 2026, as it will enter the Italian Formula 4 championship, the championship for very young drivers graduating from karting.

It is an important development for Trident, who, in doing so, will be present at every ladder of the path that a driver follows to reach the pinnacle of motorsport. The team's headquarters, located in Ossona, in the province of Milan, is undergoing a thorough remodelling which includes the expansion of the factory. At the same time, the foundations have been laid to constitute the Formula 4 team with the best specialists in the category, who will be able to benefit from the cooperation of Trident’s technical staff and the team’s know-how. Trident intends to begin the first tests with the Tatuus Formula 4 single-seaters as early as September to evaluate a series of drivers with which to contest the 2026 season.

Maurizio Salvadori, Team Principal: “Entering Formula 4 from the 2026 season was a strategic and natural choice for our team, which will allow us to complete our presence in all the most important junior formulas. With this step, we will potentially be able to accompany a driver from the first kilometers in a single-seater to the gates of Formula 1, passing through Formula Regional, FIA Formula 3, and FIA Formula 2, ladders where we are already active. The Italian Formula 4 Championship will allow us to test ourselves in a very competitive context and one that has become a true reference in the international F.4 scene thanks to the joint work of WSK and ACI. The structure of the dedicated team is taking shape these days and we are eager to begin this new challenge”.
