Trident ready to tackle the Regional European Championship
The Formula Regional European Championship season is ready to kick off this weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria. Trident Motorsport, which last year finished runner-up in the drivers' standings with Matteo De Palo, is fielding three drivers making their debut in the continental series.
Following a successful conclusion to the Regional Middle East championship held earlier this year at the circuits of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Qatar, and following the pre-season collective testing, Maurizio Salvadori's Italian team will be at the Red Bull Ring with Kai Daryanani, Andrija Kostić, and Maksimilian Popov.
Encouraging results were achieved in the Middle East championship, which were also repeated during the tests held at Hockenheim, Le Castellet, and Spielberg. Although the three drivers are making their debut in the continental series, with Kostić and Popov coming from Formula 4 while Daryanani has experience in Eurocup-3 and GB3, Trident is ready to fight for the top spots right from this first Austrian round.
The championship features eight events that, after the Spielberg round, will take place at the circuits of Zandvoort (Netherlands) on May 22-24, Spa (Belgium) on May 29-31, Monza (Italy) on June 19-21, Budapest (Hungary) on July 3-5, Le Castellet (France) on July 17-19, Imola(Italy) on September 4-6, and the final round at Hockenheim (Germany) on September 11-13.
