Trident retains Fornaroli for 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship

Trident Motorsport is proud to announce the extension of its collaboration with Leonardo Fornaroli into the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship. The 18-year-old Piacenza native will be entering his third season with the team after making his debut under the Trident banner in the 2022 FRECA championship and moving up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2023.
Lining up for his first season in the series, Fornaroli delivered an improving trend, claiming one pole position and three podiums. For the leading team in F3 and the Italian driver, the goal for 2024 is to further raise the level and deliver even more ambitious results.
Fornaroli made his debut in single-seaters in 2020, taking part in the Italian Formula 4 Championship and making some starts in the ADAC series. For the following year, Leonardo repeated the same programme, with one win, seven podiums, two poles, and three fastest laps in the Italian series, ending up fifth in the driver championship. In 2021, he moved to Trident Motorsport, in a collaboration that was destined to last for a long time.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager, Trident Motorsport:
“We are delighted to confirm Leonardo Fornaroli in our FIA Formula 3 Championship lineup. For the Piacenza-born driver, it will be the third season with us and the confirmation of a positive collaboration that will have increasingly ambitious goals. In the past season, Fornaroli has been one of the best rookies of the series. He delivered a solid performance and consistent growth. The goal for him will be to raise the level and compete at the top of the series."
Leonardo Fornaroli, Driver, Trident Motorsport:
“I am obviously very excited to be staying with Trident Motorsport for another season. This team became like a family for me where I could find the highest culture of motorsport. This is a great slot for me because Trident Motorsport has shown many times that it is one of the best places for a young driver to be in FIA Formula 3, and I intend to make the most of this opportunity while doing the best possible job for the team.”
