Trident scores second FRECA podium of 2024 at Paul Ricard

The Trident team claimed its second Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine podium of the season today at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet. The Italian squad, led by Maurizio Salvadori, started the day in the best possible way, setting the fastest lap time in group B of Qualifying 1 with Michael Belov. The 22-year-old secured a second place on the grid for Race 1, which started at 13:00 local time.

Belov held onto P2 for the entire duration of the race, giving Trident another podium finish after the one achieved by Roman Bilinski at Spa-Francorchamps. Nicola Lacorte had a positive race too, starting from P11 on the grid and climbing into the points-paying top-10 with a P9. Ruiqi Liu, debilitated by fever, finished in P15.

Michael Belov: “It’s been a great day for us! After a strong qualifying, we had a nice race. The pace was perfect for P2, as I was faster than the driver who was following me, but slightly slower than the driver in front. We now need to work to improve to go for the win tomorrow, but I’m already delighted with today’s result. It’s been two years since my last podium, so I’m thrilled with it”.
