Trident Struggles in FREC at Paul Ricard
Trident competed in the sixth round of the 2026 FREC season at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet. Unfortunately, it proved to be a challenging weekend. While there was some progress compared to the Budapest round, there is still a great deal of work to be done.
Despite an encouraging start in Friday's free practice sessions—where Maximilian Popov managed to finish in the top five—Saturday and Sunday did not yield particularly satisfying results. In Race 1, Popov, Kai Daryanani, and Andrija Kostić fought hard: Popov finished 13th (making a strong recovery from 24th on the grid), while the Serbian driver placed 23rd and the Indian driver 24th.
Competitiveness improved in the second race, with Popov once again standing out, whereas Daryanani and Kostić were involved in a collision. Ahead of the Imola round—scheduled for the weekend of September 6th—the team faces a demanding and painstaking workload, but we are confident we can return to fighting for the top positions.
