Trident takes pole, podium at Spa-Francorchamps

Trident achieved its first Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine Pole today at Spa-Francorchamps. Roman Bilinski put together an impressive performance in Q1 on Saturday morning and started in P1 for the first race of the weekend at 15.45.

In race 1, Bilinski defended P1 for most part of the day, until lap 8 of 12, when he suffered a slight drop and moved back to P3. After celebrating on the podium, the Englishman of Polish heritage was promoted to second place, benefitting from the penalty assessed to a rival.

It was a positive day for Nicola Lacorte and Ruiqi Liu. After a complicated qualifying, he managed to come back strong, highlighting an excellent pace. It will be great motivation for tomorrow when FRECA will return to action for another qualifying session and the second race of the weekend.

Roman Bilinski: “Overall a very good day for us, starting with my first pole position in FRECA! In the race, I finished P3 on track, which became P2 after a driver in front got a penalty. I had an extremely good race, showing good pace. I'm very happy and I think it shows the good work myself and Trident did. We really deserved it! Let's keep pushing for tomorrow”.
