Trident takes third success of the season with Camara

The Feature Race that closed the fifth weekend of the FIA Formula 3 Championship, held on the Catalan circuit of Montmeló, confirmed the solid form of Trident Motorsport. At the end of the Spanish event, the team with operational headquarters in Ossona firmly maintains the top spot in both the Teams and Drivers standings.
Trident Motorsport and Rafael Câmara confirmed to be the perfect package also on the Montmeló track. The nineteen-year-old Brazilian, after having taken his fourth pole position of the season, an absolute record in the history of the FIA Formula 3 Championship, won the Feature Race.
For the Ferrari Driver Academy driver, it was the third success of the season at the end of a race dominated from lights to chequered flag. Câmara kept his nerves, showing the coolness of a veteran in the two restarts that followed as many interventions of the safety car. The Brazilian also embellished the Catalan weekend by signing the fastest lap, scoring further points that allow him to extend his lead in the overall standings to twenty-six points on his closest rival.
Noah Strømsted also put on a solid race. On a track like Montmeló, where it is difficult to overtake, the seventeen-year-old Dane maintained the eighth place conquered in qualifying, consolidating the fourth position in the standings. Good progression by Charlie Wurz who, starting from the eighteenth place on the starting grid, worked his way up to fourteenth place.
Having passed the halfway point of the championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship is now taking a four-week break. The next event, scheduled for the end of June, will take place in Austria at the Red Bull Ring circuit nestled in the green hills of Styria.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “We are satisfied to have achieved the third success of the season with Rafael Câmara, after the Brazilian driver had taken the fourth pole position in five rounds of the championship, setting a record for the category. Câmara was perfect in keeping the race under control and managing the two restarts following the neutralizations. The championship is still long, we must keep our concentration high and continue at these levels. The races of Noah Strømsted and Charlie Wurz were conditioned by the outcome of qualifying, with the Dane taking a positive ninth place, while the Austrian driver missing the points despite having made a solid recovery”.
