Trident to consolidate its lead in Spain

Three points left. This is the gap separating Matteo De Palo from leader Freddie Slater in the overall standings of the Formula Regional European by Alpine championship. With this small margin to close, the Trident team is ready to tackle the third-to-last round of the season at the Montmeló circuit, not far from Barcelona. It's an intense, exciting challenge that Maurizio Salvadori's team, managed on track by Luca Zerbini, has been facing since the start of 2025.
De Palo is the championship's great revelation, with three wins and two poles to his name, building on an incredible run that has seen him score points in 13 of the 14 races so far. And only a collision caused by an opponent in the final race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg deprived him of a top-10 finish in Austria. At Montmeló, Trident will look to consolidate its fourth place in the team standings thanks also to Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi, who has scored points on four occasions (the last in the final race in Spielberg where he finished ninth) and Ruiqi Liu, who in Catalonia hopes to definitively banish the bad luck that has plagued him for several races.
