Van Hoepen confirmed by Trident Motorsport for the upcoming rounds of the FIA F2 Championship

Trident Motorsport is pleased to confirm Laurens Van Hoepen's presence in the final two rounds of the FIA Formula 2 Championship season. After a successful debut in Baku, the 20-year-old Dutchman will compete in both the Lusail round and the championship finale in Abu Dhabi.

This follows the successful debut in the category on the demanding and challenging Azerbaijan street circuit, where the Rotterdam native immediately demonstrated a good adaptation to the more powerful F.2 cars and a good cooperation attitude with the team.

Coming off a positive season in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, culminating in five podiums and a pole position, Van Hoepen staged a strong comeback in the Sprint Race in Baku. Even in the longest race of the Azerbaijan weekend, the Dutchman displayed solid pace.

Once he's familiar with the car, Van Hoepen will certainly be more competitive in the upcoming rounds of the season. The Rotterdam native has been working closely with the Trident Motorsport team to maximize his results in the next round of the championship in Qatar.

Giacomo Ricci, Trident Motorsport Team Manager: "Laurens Van Hoepen's positive debut in Baku with Trident Motorsport in the FIA F2 Championship finds an important and natural continuation: we will also field the Dutch driver in the final two races of the season with the aim of helping him grow in the category and being consistently competitive. I think all the ingredients are there to do well."

Laurens Van Hoepen, Trident Motorsport driver: "After the experience in Baku, I'll be back in a FIA F2 Championship car in Lusail and Yas Marina. I can't wait to get back on track, where consistency will be the key for me. My goal will be to be steadily fast."
